BiographyIntroduction and/or Personal InformationAfter 34 years in the pastoral ministry (most recently as Sr. Pastor, The United Methodist Church of Summit, New Jersey Conference), Lee Weaver has retired, with his wife Nanette, to Saint Augustine, Florida. Now he travels across the country bringing exciting, Christ-centered preaching and dramatic monologues to diverse groups. His preaching credentials are strong. In 1995, 1996 and 1997 he was the opening preacher for the Sunday Summer Services in the seven thousand seat Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, NJ. Also, in the Great Auditorium, he coordinated and directed the music for the Dixieland Jazz Worship Service, featuring The Wooster Street Trolley Jazz Band; Tony Campolo preaching. For over a decade, NY metropolitan area Cable TV viewers were familiar with Weaver's weekly broadcast of his Sunday morning messages, with his characteristic opening, "Well, I've had a good week!" Weaver's dramatic solo presentations include portrayals of three of the Bible's most colorful figures: Joseph the Husband of Mary, who provides an affable first-hand account of The Christmas Story; Judas the Betrayer, who hauntingly recounts the events leading up to the crucifixion of Jesus; and Peter - the Big Fisherman, who proclaims the Empty Tomb and shares the excitement of Pentecost. Weaver is a veteran of both the dramatic and musical theater; most recently playing the leading roles of Don Quixote in "The Man of LaMancha" and Charlie Anderson in "Shenandoah." He currently offers a vocal concert entitled "Laughter, The Word, and Music." In 1995, Lee and Nanette co-hosted the morning radio talk show on WERA from Plainfield NJ. Their program covered a broad range of topics; "from interviews with newsmakers and politicians to current events; from sports to music and on and on " |
